The summer of 2016 I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Greece with my wife to document the recent refugee crisis. It was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life. I witnessed a group of people in such a vulnerable and broken situation, having left all they knew and loved in search of refuge. Yet even when they had nothing they gave freely, kindness and generosity overflowed to those around them. They offered us food, coffee, too many cigarettes, and a seat in their tents (homes) where we heard their stories: Where they were from. How many beautiful children they had. How many beautiful children they had lost. And we even shared laughs about Jackie Chan and Michael Jackson.
